This course will cov er:

The role of the fire marshal and resp onsibilities.
Relevant legislation and guidelines.
Preventing fires and the spread of them within bu ildings.
Fighting fires with both fixed installati ons and portable extinguishers.
Fire hazards and c auses of fires.
Emergency protocol\, including eva cuation\, emergency lighting and assembly points.
Fire alarms\, fire drills and safety training.
Fir e risk assessment.
Understanding categories of fir e and how they differ.
Meaning of the colour codes on fire extinguishers.
Regular fire safety inspec tions and keeping a fire log.
Using Fire Extinguis her equipment (this will be done in a safe environ ment outside the training room)

This course is d esigned for any members of staff who are looking t o become the designated fire warden for their work place.

\n Succ essful candidates will gain an understanding of fi re safety management at work and the specific role s and responsibilities related to fire safety in t he workplace.
