Emergency First Aid At Work

The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 require all employers to make arrangements to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. This includes carrying out a risk assessment, appointing a suitable number of first aiders and providing appropriate first aid training.

Training details

The Emergency First Aid at Work course meets the requirements of the HSE (Health and Safety Executive) and is nationally recognised, designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work to provide first aid in a range of emergency first aid situations. It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide basic first aid in voluntary and community activities.

During this 1-day course, learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations, including: managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, choking, shock, wounds and bleeding and minor injuries.

Who should attend?
This course is designed to suit all employees, be that designated first aiders or those simply requiring a comprehensive first aid course.

Trainer
This course is delivered by UK’s largest vocational training provider Tutor Care, who are approved and accredited by a range of legislative bodies to ensure your organisation remains compliant with the latest rules and regulations.

What will I learn?
Delegates will gain an understanding of different incidents and injuries so that they are able to treat unconscious patients efficiently and effectively.

Assessment
The course is delivered within a day over a 7 hour period. There will be a continuous assessment throughout by the trainer. Upon successful completion, first aiders receive certification to allow them to practice for three years after which a re-qualification course becomes necessary. It is strongly recommended that you update your skills by taking an annual refresher.

Cost:

£75 per person for OCVA Members
£90 per person from a charitable organisation who are not OCVA members
£105 per person from a non-charitable organisation

9.30 am – 4.30 pm (7 hours) included in this are 2 tea breaks and a short lunch break. – please bring your own lunch)
