Training details

This practical workshop introduces the key principles of good governance for community and voluntary organisations. It will explore the difference between governance and management, clarify trustee and leadership responsibilities, and highlight essential policies, financial oversight, and risk awareness. The session is designed to support organisations to strengthen their structures, meet funder expectations, and plan for sustainability.

Leaders / Representatives of BME Organisations in Oxfordshire. 

What will I learn?

The aims of this workshop are to strengthen participants’ understanding of governance and equip them with the knowledge and tools needed to build effective, accountable, and sustainable organisations.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the difference between governance and management
  • Clarify trustee roles and leadership responsibilities
  • Identify key policies required for effective governance
  • Recognise and manage financial and governance risks
  • Understand what funders expect from well-governed organisations
  • Develop a simple action plan to strengthen governance within their organisation

This workshop will be delivered by Voice4Change England, a membership organisation and national advocate for BME Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprises (VCSE). 

Cost:

This workshop is free of charge.

9.30 am – 1 pm. There will be a short break halfway through the session.
