Training details
An active, involved and committed trustee board is essential for the success of any charity or not for profit. Trustees, senior staff and operational staff all tell us that a key challenge is in ensuring the foundations for strong governance are in place. Without this, both organisational and Board performance is impacted.
This training will go beyond the essential requirements of trusteeship covered in our ‘Being a Good Trustee’ course and will focus on how senior staff, Chairs and Trustees can work together to support the Board to deliver strong governance.
Who should attend?
It will be of benefit to charity leaders including CEOs (or equivalent), Chairs and Trustees who want to find out how to get the best out of their Trustee Boards.
What will I learn?
- The different roles and functions of an effective Board, and engaging the Board collectively to meet these.
- How to engage the Board in the foundations for strong governance, including strategy, risk and compliance and the boundaries between operational and governance responsibilities.
- How to create the environment for the Board to thrive, including techniques for building trust, encouraging open communication, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Tips, tools and insights from other charity leaders.
